Introduction
For the Municipality of Oeiras the privacy and protection of your Personal Data is very important.
The Municipality of Oeiras expresses its firm commitment to comply with the legislation in force at all times and to treat your personal data in accordance with this privacy policy.
Each time you use the site of the Municipality of Oeiras or when you otherwise interact with the Municipality of Oeiras (e.g. website registration and applications), the Personal Data you transmit to us will be processed in accordance with the legal requirements defined for each particular situation.
The Municipality of Oeiras reserves the right to modify the Privacy Policy in accordance with new legal and/or regulatory requirements, for security reasons or for the purpose of adapting said Policy to the instructions of the control authorities regarding data protection. The person in charge of processing Personal Data is the mayor of the Municipality of Oeiras, a public corporate body, with headquarters at Largo Marquês de Pombal, 2584-501 Oeiras, holder of the tax identification number 500745943
2. What data do we collect from citizens who contact Oeiras Valley, how do we use them, on what grounds do we use them and where do we store them?
The Municipality of Oeiras collects various types of Personal Data for different purposes, namely:

- Date of birth
- Email adress
- Telephone number
- Adress
- Citizen Card Number/Identity Card/Passport
- TIN
3. The purposes of the processing of personal data are as follows:
a) For the purpose of complying with legal obligations to which the Municipality of Oeiras is subject (such as instruction of administrative procedures, response to requests from citizens, issuing of permits, licenses, etc.);
b) Performing pre-contractual or contractual procedures;
c) The pursuit of legitimate interests pursued by the Municipality of Oeiras;
d) For the exercise of functions of public interest or the exercise of the public authority that is vested in the Municipality of Oeiras;
e) Defence of vital interests of the data subject or other natural person ;
f) Disclosure of public interest, namely, announcements to citizens;
g) Communication of information on activities taking place in the Municipality of Oeiras under the terms defined by the data subject through his/her express, free and informed consent.
4. Who receives your personal information?
The data collected by the Municipality of Oeiras are solely and exclusively for internal processing. In no case shall the Municipality of Oeiras carry out international transfers of its data to a third country or international organisation outside the European Union.
5. Where we store your data?
The Municipality of Oeiras stores data in servers that are in a secure environment, protected from unauthorised access, use or disclosure of the Personal Data that the user provides.
The Municipality of Oeiras adopts the technical, electronic and organisational procedures necessary and adequate to guarantee the security of your Personal Data and to prevent its loss, misuse or improper access

6. Subcontracting
In cases where subcontractors have access to personal data to carry out data processing on behalf of the City Council, we have adopted measures to ensure compliance with the requirements imposed by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR
Any entity subcontracted by the Municipality of Oeiras will process personal data in its name and on its behalf, taking the necessary technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against accidental, unlawful destruction, accidental loss, alteration, disclosure or unauthorised access and any other form of unlawful processing
Where required by law, personal data may be made available to supervisory agencies, tax authorities or investigating authorities
7. What are your rights when you give us your data?
In accordance with the applicable legislation, the Municipality of Oeiras undertakes to respect the confidentiality of your personal information and ensure the exercise of your rights to:
a) Right to be informed: residents, users and employees have the right to obtain clear, transparent and understandable information about how the Municipality of Oeiras uses your Personal Data.
b) Right of access: in addition to the right to information, you can access your personal data that we process and keep. In these cases, the Municipality of Oeiras will provide you with a copy of the personal data that is being processed. In addition, when requested via electronic means, the information will be provided in a standard electronic format.
c) Right of rectification: you have the right to rectify your personal data if they are incorrect, out of date or if you wish to complete them
d) Right to erasure/right to be forgotten: you may ask us to delete your data, however, please note that this is not a universal right, since we may have legal grounds or other legitimate interests for the retention of your personal data.
e) The right to withdraw consent to data processing at any time: you may withdraw your consent to data processing when such processing is based on your consent.
Withdrawal of consent does not compromise the lawfulness of the processing on the basis of the consent previously given.

g) Right to data portability: you have the right to move, copy or transfer the data from our database to another.
h) Right to limit processing: you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your data in the following situations: if you dispute the accuracy of the data, if the processing is unlawful and you do not want to erase your data, but only limit it, if the data is no longer required by the Municipality of Oeiras, but is necessary to the visitor / customer or if he/she has exercised the right of opposition referred to above, during the period in which the Municipality of Oeiras analyses whether its legitimate interests for processing prevail over that right or not.

8. How long do we store your data for?
The length of time during which the data is stored and kept varies according to the purpose for which the information is processed. There are legal requirements that require the data to be kept for a certain period of time.
Where there is no specific legal requirement, the data shall be stored and kept only for the minimum period necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
9. Procedures for the exercise of rights by the personal data subject

The Municipality of Oeiras will respond to the request of the data subject within a maximum of one month from the receipt of the request, except in cases of particular complexity, where this period can be extended by up to two months. If the applications submitted by the data subject are manifestly unfounded or excessive, in particular because of their repetitive nature, the Municipality of Oeiras reserves the right to charge administrative costs or refuse to comply with the request .
