This summer, for the first time, the Municipal Libraries of Oeiras will be present on the municipality’s four beaches: Torre, Santo Amaro de Oeiras, Paço de Arcos and Caxias. This network of Beach Libraries will be available until 8 September, from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.
As of today, you can visit any beach in Oeiras and consult or request any book, newspaper or magazine at your Beach Library.
The initiative of the Municipal Libraries of Oeiras takes place for the first time on all the beaches of the municipality, and it is even possible to collect your reservations at a beach of your choice, simply by choosing your delivery beach from the catalogue.
In addition to the usual requests, access to the PressReader will be made available to passers-by. On this digital platform, you can find and read more than 7,000 online newspapers and magazines from around the world. The EBSCO academic database will also be available, so that those who use the beaches of Oeiras as their chosen location for study are not neglected.
This initiative by the Municipality of Oeiras will take place daily, between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm, until 8 September, and various workshops are being prepared for families throughout the summer, which will link literature, sustainability, the environment and ecology.
