Taguspark has a new positioning, which it seeks to reflect through a change in its name. The largest science and technology park in the country added to its signature “City of Knowledge” (“Cidade do Conhecimento” in Portuguese), thus seeking to underline the work that is developed there and its alignment with the Oeiras Valley, a land of innovation project.
“Taguspark has the characteristics of a special city. Everything that happens here is in an urban context. The park brings together a range of services and areas of commerce, it has art and culture, it has policies to encourage good citizenship and dignity at work. We are an economic city, which produces knowledge based on science and technology, which creates wealth”, says Eduardo Baptista Correia, CEO of the park, in a statement.
The new designation of “Taguspark City of Knowledge”, seeks to condense into one expression what this venue currently represents for Oeiras and for the country. “With this change of signature, we have decided to underline what we do. It is knowledge that is at the heart of development, which allows us to go further and expand borders. We want what we do here to be an example for the country at all levels”, adds Eduardo Baptista Correia.
Around 16 thousand people work at the largest technology and science park, spread across around 160 companies and 20 start-ups in the Taguspark Incubator. Interaction between the university, research centres and companies is one of its main distinguishing features.
