2 million euros. This is the figure that Oeiras Council intends on investing in the construction of the Quinta da Fonte viaduct in Paço de Arcos. The purpose of this initiative is to improve mobility and access to the municipality. The commitment to mobility is one of the municipality’s pillars of development.
Ground was broken on 14 June and the work will connect Parque das Cidades to Quinta da Fonte at one of the most important intersections in the municipality.
The objective of this investment is to improve accessibility and decrease traffic constraints for all people who live in Oeiras or who travel to the municipality for work or leisure.
More than 4,000 people work at the Quinta da Fonte business park. In total, the park is home to more than 100 companies, including HP, Endesa, Fullsix, ABB Portugal, Whitestar, Banco Primus, among others. In addition to those travelling to work in this area each day, countless residents visit this location to enjoy the countless services (restaurants, health club, training centres, beauty parlour, etc.) available at Parque da Quinta Fonte. Estimates suggest that 7,000 million people regularly use the business park. Therefore, the construction of the viaduct will open up new accessibility options, both for those arriving to and leaving Quinta da Fonte, increasing its appeal and improving connections to other business parks.
