The Oeiras Valley innovation ecosystem was presented last week in Brazil.
The presentation took place at two different times, in Rio de Janeiro and in São Paulo. These two events were attended by several local entrepreneurs, as well as the Portuguese community in Brazil. The presentation of the new development cycle of Oeiras was made by the deputy mayor of the Oeiras City Council, Francisco Rocha Gonçalves, in a moment that also included the presence of ambassador António Martins da Cruz.
The events to present the competitive advantages of the municipality of Oeiras took place within the scope of the arrival of the School Ship Sagres in Rio de Janeiro. This stop of the School Ship Sagres is part of the circumnavigation trip that the ship is undertaking as part of the celebrations of the fifth centenary of Fernão de Magalhães journey. A journey that will only end in January 2021.
On board, the ship takes part of the heritage of Oeiras. On this trip, two barrels of 280 litres of fortified wine are produced, created in the municipality of Oeiras – Villa Oeiras wine, which has already been the subject of several national and international awards. During circumnavigation, Villa Oeiras wine will cross the Equator four times and will pass through more than 20 ports around the world. During this trip, Villa Oeiras will obtain unique characteristics that will allow the wine to be designated as “Villa Oeiras Torna Viagem”.
For the municipality of Oeiras, this is an opportunity to publicise internationally what is best done in Oeiras, captivating potential external economic agents for the municipality.
