On 21 October, applications will begin for the Technical and Scientific Cooperation Programme between the Municipality of Oeiras and Higher Education Institutions. As part of the “Oeiras Science and Technology 2020-2025 Strategy”, this programme will award two grants to the most innovative ideas. Learn more about this programme in four questions and answers.
What is the Technical and Scientific Cooperation Programme
The Technical and Scientific Cooperation Programme between the Municipality of Oeiras and Higher Education Institutions aims to reward, through the awarding of a grant, the development and boosting of projects based on data relating to the territory of Oeiras, encouraging their analysis and reuse. The idea behind this programme is to enable the development and boosting of research work that will enhance the programming and initiative of the Municipality in various areas of action, contributing to the most emerging problems and the search for solutions that will enable decision-making support for the benefit of citizens, institutions and companies.
How to apply?
Applications for the Programme start on 21 October. Interested parties can submit their projects up until 30 November 2020. Applications are completed online, through a specific application form, which will soon be available here: https://programacooperacao.oeirasvalley.com/
What are the potential subject areas of the projects to be submitted?
Those interested in participating in this Programme shall submit a project development proposal based on one of the five subject areas defined for the 2020/2021 edition of the Technical and Scientific Cooperation Programme:
- Adaptation to climate change;
- Energy efficiency in street lighting;
- Built environment, physical activity and the provision of qualified sports activities;
- Municipal waste management;

What are the prizes associated with the programme?
The Technical and Scientific Cooperation Programme expects to award two grants, each in the value of 5,000 euros, to the two applicants that present the most innovative ideas. These grants will be awarded to support the development of the winning projects throughout 2021.
